Go BYU! Last night we went to the awesome basketball game. It was a fun game, but the best part was after, when we went up to my parents house. My roommates and I escaped Provo for a night to the Baird retreat. Where we stayed up late and talked by the warm fire place then we each had our own queens sized beds. Then we went up to Salt Lake this morning to watch and listen to Music and the Spoken Word. It was so beautiful, bright, and sunny downtown this morning. And the message entitled "Finding Joy" was so neat. There is a neat paragraph out of Lloyd Newells message:
"...Real joy does not depend on our social status or our bank account, and it can even be found in times of turmoil and disappointment. Joy springs from our attitude and outlook. It comes from simple gestures, like making time for family members or friends, clearing up a misunderstanding, expressing gratitude for the efforts of others, celebrating their successes, or taking time to listen to their worries. " I also really liked a part in the Joseph Smith Manuel from todays lesson, "The latter-day scriptures are published 'so that the honest in heart may be cheered and comforted and go on their way rejoicing.'" We are so blessed!
