Hindu Party!

I have been studying a little bit about the culture in India this weekend, which worked out perfect because I got to go with some friends to the Hindu festival this weekend. It was at their temple in Spanish Fork, which was absolutely beautiful. The environment was so fun, it was a whole new cultural experience for me. Then they had this crazy Pageant on the Hill in front of the temple which was really fun, it was kind of funny, the costumes were really creative and they used a flash light for a spotlight on the actors, it was really low key and fun to learn more about the Hindu culture. The Pageant was followed by a Hindu rock concert, they pep up their prayers a little bit in their songs, it's kind of funny. The food was really interesting too, they took our plates and piled on rice and this sweet apricot potato mush stuff and then chips on top of it, all mixed together. It was kind of different, but again, we all just loved the adventure of trying something new!
