Local Tourists

There is a trend among society to never do the "touristy", experiences that are close by. Now that I have a bed, I consider myself a local! Kim, my friend is really from here, but we set out on Saturday to hit a few things on the Seattle bucket list.

The Underground Tour...So Seattle used to be a bit lower, but they decided to fill in the first level, so what you see above ground is what used to be the second story in historic Seattle.

China Town was having a dragon festival on Saturday also. So Kim and I wandered around the little shops and stands. Many aspects of it reminded me of last summer living in China. We listed to the music, watched the cute little kids to tae chi, and just enjoyed the fun celebratory atmosphere. The boat above is made from all fruits and vegetables, it was beautiful! It reminded me of what real Chinese food was like. Also, we went into this little market and they had my favorite dried sweet potatoes, I loved these when I was in China and have wanted more of them since I left there. I was thrilled to have them again!

Seattle art wall...crazy...psychedelic...cool...weird...Seattle.

These NW tree huggers even knit sweaters for their trees!
